Booking
Who:Generally, we book anything original. This includes, but is not limited to: rock, indie, garage, instrumental/experimental, singer-songwriter, r & b, underground hip-hop, electronica, roots music/alt-country, rockabilly and some blues, jazz, punk and metal acts. We typically do not book: cover bands, more main-stream hip-hop, hardcore, grindcore or any other genera that ends in 'core.'
How:The only way to contact us with regard to booking is via email. Not only does this speed the booking process, it saves time and money. Send email inquires to Plush's talent buyer: bookingstl@plushstl.com.
Please include in this email: links to your act's web-site with streaming audio (and/or other pertinent links: facebook, myspace, reverb nation, soundcloud, etc.), specific date or dates for which you are looking, what you sound like (ie, what genre or what bigger, well-known acts with which you can be compared or have been influenced), contact info, and any other relevant information.
Keep in mind, Plush typically books 2-3 months in advance.
If you represent a national/regional act and that has played Saint Louis before, let us know where and how many attended your last performance. Also, let us know if you have any relationships with local Saint Louis acts.
DO NOT send attached MP3s.
DO NOT send unsolicited "press kits" to the club by mail or drop any demos at the bar unless specifically asked to by the club's talent buyer.
DO NOT come to Plush in person to discuss booking.
DO NOT contact any Plush employee's facebook.
DO NOT call the venue. PLEASE USE EMAIL.
Why: We do our best to reply to every inquiry in a prompt manner. This being said, we get hundreds and hundreds of emails per week, and are not always able to respond to each and every inquiry. Typically, we will get back to you if we have something available, but if we do not respond to you we either did not have the date available or were not interested at this time.
Once a show is confirmed you will receive an email from us detailing everything related to the date (set times, loading, financial breakdowns, etc.). We may exchange a few emails about prospective dates or bills, but until you get an email saying that we are 'confirmed', we are not confirmed.
Please advance load-in, set and show times with talent buyer via email: bookingstl@plushstl.com. If you have technical questions, please refer the following Technical Specification section.
We ask local bands not to play too many shows and touring acts not to play anywhere else in Saint Louis for at least four weeks prior to or after a show at Plush. It doesn't help your attendance, us or other area venues if you play too often.
Lastly, artists we invite back are those that promote well (eg, bring people to the club), perform well, and are professional and easy to work with.
